Every year, the Specialty Equipment Market Association trade show in Las Vegas — also known as SEMA — offers a look into the latest trends, parts and automotive accessories in the world of vehicle customization. This year’s SEMA show has gone virtual — known as SEMA360 — and today Toyota reveals four vehicles at SEMA360: the 4WD Toyota Owner Magazine Overland Tacoma; the Ornamental Conifer GR Supra; the GReddy Performance Formula D GR Supra; and the Papadakis Racing Formula D GR Supra.

With the growing popularity of Overlanding — best described as self-reliant adventure travel — editors of 4WD Toyota Owner Magazine put together specs for a full-on outdoor lifestyle machine based on the Tacoma TRD Off-Road pickup. The automaker teamed up with writer / comedian / activist Ryan O’Connell and specialty parts builder ShmellFab to create the vehicle. The builders added a Magnuson Superchargers Roots-type TVS1900 blower to the 3.5-liter V6 engine to increase output to 370 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque.

For improved off-road capability, the Overland Tacoma has suspension upgrades including ToyTec Boss Aluma 2.5 Series coilovers, shocks and an add-a-leaf package; CBI Offroad Fab lower control arms; and Camburg Engineering upper control arms. Additional upgrades include a Toyota E-locker locking differential, CBI Offroad Fab front-to-rear aluminum and steel skidplates, DOM steel tube rock sliders with top plates and MaxTrax MKII traction boards. The Tacoma has also been fitted with BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 255/85R16 tires mounted on 16 x 8-inch matte black 704 Trail Series wheels from Method Race Wheels.

The Ornamental Conifer GR Supra for SEMA360 is a hand-painted work of art created by Ornamental Conifer, the moniker for British artist Nicolai Sclater, art director at Race Service, a Los Angeles creative agency. Working with enamel paint and brushes, Sclater hand painted every letter and graphic of this GR Supra, inspired by what drives enthusiasts to customize their GR Supra sports cars.

For his canvas, Sclater started with a 2021 Toyota GR Supra 3.0 Premium in Turbulence Gray, adding graphics and expressions such as True to Form and Lightning Response as nods to past and present Supra attributes. Powered by a 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder engine producing 382 horsepower and 368 lb-ft of torque, the Ornamental Conifer GR Supra features 19-inch RSE-M Forged Rotiform wheels, Nitto NT01 tires and Brembo brakes with 4-piston fixed front calipers and single-piston floating rear calipers.

“Nico’s creativity and skills are over the top, and simply amazing,” noted Group Vice President of Toyota Division Marketing Ed Laukes. “What he created in the Ornamental Conifer GR Supra is pure art. To think he did this and all the accompanying artwork by hand blows me away, especially in an era where digitally printed vinyl wraps are the rage. I’m looking forward to hearing what automotive enthusiasts and Supra fans think of this project,” said Laukes.
