Pebble Beach Motoring Classic — Ultimate Collector Car Road Trip

Every August for almost 20 years, a group of adventurous car collectors gathers on the outskirts of Seattle for the ultimate road trip to California. The drive covers about 1,500 miles through the mountains and along the Pacific Coast, arriving in Pebble Beach just in time for the famed Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance collector car show. As the first official event of the annual concours, the Motoring Classic is the brainchild of Al McEwan, a collector who has not only organized this event from the very beginning but leads the charge each year.

This year McEwan and his wife Sandi are piloting a timeless 1947 Chrysler Town and Country Sedan. The idea behind the Motoring Classic is for car owners — and accidental spectators — to enjoy these incredible cars in their natural environment cruising the open road. With vehicles ranging in age from an elegant 1914 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost to a sexy 1968 Ferrari 365 GT Coupe, this year’s group will spend nine days enjoying what McEwan calls “a little bit of driving between the parties.” Enjoy this quick look at the gorgeous and rare vehicles participating in the 2022 Pebble Beach Concours Motoring Classic.
