Next Generation Nissan GT-R

Nissan Moves the GT-R Over 500 Horsepower

Nissan has upgraded their GT-R supercar for 2012 with a new look, wheel design, colors and more power.? There is also a new ?Black Edition? with special seats, interior colors and different wheels.

The 2012 Nissan GT-R?s 3.8-liter twin turbo V-6 is now rated at 530-hp with 448 lb.ft. of torque.? The 45-hp improvement was made by modifying the boost pressure of the turbocharger, valve timing and air mixture ratio, and enlarging both the air intake pipe and enlarging the exhaust pipes.

The body changes improved the aerodynamics to a low 0.26 coefficient of drag. ?Stability is improved by enlarged fascia and grille openings, which also help reduce air resistance inside the engine compartment. The volume of air that passes through the radiator and cools the front brakes is also increased.

GT-R?s newly designed, lighter weight and more rigid forged aluminum 20-inch wheels, once again manufactured by RAYS?, help improve suspension response. Knurling inside the wheels is modified to help keep the tires from slipping around the wheels under heavy acceleration or braking. The wheels also feature a new premium dark (near black) finish, which provides a high quality, high-performance look. The Black Edition features special black six-spoke RAYS? lightweight wheels in place of the Premium model?s 10-spoke design.

?The Nissan GT-R continues to be a multi-dimensional performance machine that lives up to the concept of ?the ultimate supercar that can be driven by anyone, anytime, anywhere,?? said Al Castignetti, vice president and general manager, Nissan Division, Nissan North America, Inc. ?With the enhancements for 2012, including its 530-horsepower twin turbo V6 and revised styling, the GT-R legend continues to grow. We can?t wait for its arrival in Nissan showrooms, and on the streets, here in the U.S.?

The GT-R Premium model arrives at official ?GT-R certified? Nissan dealers early in 2011 with a price tag of $90,950, including the destination charge.? The ?Black Edition? is priced at $96,100 and will arrive later in the model year.
