Hennessey Venom F5 — Now Track Ready

A year ago, Texas-based Hennessey Performance came to market with one of the most extreme hypercars available — the Venom F5 Coupe. Boasting a massive V8 engine producing more than 1800 horsepower, the F5 was designed to exceed 300 mph. Hennessey also introduced a Venom Roadster last year, and now the company announces a third variant — the track-ready Venom F5 Revolution Coupe.

The Venom F5 is already a force to be reckoned with, and the new F5 Revolution takes model performance to a new level. Designed for more agility with improved handling and considerably more downforce, the latest F5 is also the lightest version yet, weighing in below 3,000 pounds. Engineers retooled the hypercar’s aerodynamics, suspension, engine cooling and digital telemetry to turn the F5 into a proper track-focused machine.

“From the outset, we designed the Venom F5 hypercar to be ultra-light and monstrously powerful, with dynamics to match,” said Hennessey Chief Engineer (and acclaimed racecar driver) John ‘Heinrocket’ Heinricy. “So, taking these ingredients and adding track-focused aerodynamics, suspension, and gearing, enabled us to create a machine that is the ultimate visceral and emotional driving experience,” Heinricy observed.

Like the F5 Coupe and Roadster, the F5 Revolution gets built around a lightweight carbon fiber monocoque chassis. Extreme performance comes courtesy of a rear mid-mounted 6.6-liter twin-turbocharged Fury V8 engine that pumps out an outrageous 1817 horsepower and 1193 lb-ft of torque, making it the most potent gas-powered sports car in the world. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed automated single-clutch gearbox.

“Our team built the Venom F5’s Fury V8 motor with one vision — to deliver a unique and unparalleled driving experience,” enthused company founder and CEO John Hennessey. “The engine commands complete respect. It’s intimidating — in a good way. It totally dominates the driving experience and keeps goading you to unleash its power and challenge you to tame it. The F5 resets the balance, having been designed from the ground up to be the antithesis of the everyday hypercar — it will always be an occasion to drive,” the owner also noted.

The most noticeable difference between the Revolution and the ‘standard’ F5 Coupe is its rear spoiler. A carbon fiber rear wing spans the entire width of the vehicle and features endplates to further increase downforce. Fully adjustable, the wing can deliver up to 800 pounds of downforce at 186 mph and more than 1,400 pounds at 249 mph.

Up front, the Venom F5 Revolution gets a larger carbon-fiber splitter designed to prevent air from flowing beneath the car at speed and improving overall downforce. Carbon fiber “dive planes” are also placed at the lead of each front wheel, improving turn-in with more forward downforce.

Another addition to this even more extreme version of the F5 is a new roof-mounted air intake that forces fresh air into the engine bay, keeping the engine cooler during extended track outings.

Great power requires great braking, and the Venom F5 Revolution Coupe takes control with standard carbon ceramic brakes with multi-piston calipers. New forged alloy wheels get shod with Z-rated Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires.

The Hennessey Venom F5 Revolution Coupe’s double wishbone suspension features more aggressive settings and can be adjusted trackside to optimize the setup for specific race courses.

“The new Venom F5 Revolution Coupe combines our outstanding 1,817 bhp V8 ‘Fury’ combustion engine with our lightest and most capable chassis,” said Hennessey. “The hypercar, which is astoundingly fast, is at home on a racing circuit where utmost handling is paramount — it offers the nimbleness of a fighter jet, yet with a powerplant like a Saturn V rocket!” exclaimed Hennessey.

The Hennessey Venom F5 Revolution Coupe has a price tag of $2.7 million, and the company plans to build just 24 copies. Several have already been spoken for, but there’s still time to reserve your own limited-edition track-ready hypercar.
