Decadent imperialism and we love it! The New 2011 Jaguar XJ

Jaguar is among the last of the great British automakers still producing new cars, and the XJ sedan has been Jaguar?s mainstay for more than 40 years. First produced in 1968, the XJ has always been a premium full-size family luxury car.

The latest XJ sedan for 2010 features a naturally aspirated 385 horsepower direct-injected 5-liter V8 engine, paired with a state of the art paddle-shifted 6-speed automatic transmission. Performance enthusiasts can also order the XJ Supercharged, boosting the engine output to 470 horsepower.

?For most of its production, the XJ?s exterior styling has stayed more or less constant. However, the new 2010 XJ is a significant departure from the past, with a wind-tunnel-shaped body that says Jag is looking forward, not back, for inspiration. The new XJ body styling is all modern, with strong handsome lines and the sinuously sleek agility you expect from a Jaguar.

?Jaguar has developed a dynamic active suspension for the new XJ. The new suspension senses speed and road conditions and adjusts itself up to 500 times per second to provide an optimum balance between comfort and precision handling.

?Inside, the Jaguar XJ has everything you could want from a top of the line luxury sedan. The driver?s seat adjusts in 16 different ways, and the seating surfaces are all covered in leather. Of course, the front seats are both heated and cooled to keep you comfortable at all times. Interior trim is made of genuine wood, or optional carbon-fiber for a sportier look.

?The sound system delivers 600 watts of power, and accepts CD, iPod, and USB inputs. The interior environment is controlled through a high definition touch-screen interface that includes GPS navigation, Bluetooth hands-free phone support, trip computer, and zone climate control. In addition to the touch screen interface, you can also control all of these advanced functions by voice command.

?The dashboard is also a high definition video screen, with virtual instrument display. Drivers can choose between normal, winter, and dynamic mode displays and cycle through a wide variety of information.

?The Jaguar XJ starts at $72,500. That?s competitive with other full-size luxury sedans in this class. If you?re shopping for a big European luxury car, you owe it to yourself to check out the all-new 2010 Jaguar XJ.
