Books: Mustang Boss 302 ? From Racing Legend to Modern Muscle Car

Donald Farr?s new book on the Ford Mustang Boss 302 is not only authorized and officially licensed by Ford, it also has more about the history and current new Boss than anyone could probably ever want to know.

Farr?s background makes him the quintessential expert on the Boss with 30 years on the staff at Mustang Monthly Magazine, and as the author of Mustang Boss 302:? Ford?s Trans-AM Ponycar and co-author of How to Restore Your Mustang, which he authored with Mustang Monthly founder Larry Dobbs.

Initially created in 1969 by the legendary Larry Shinoda, ?the original Boss was developed as a race car and was driven by drivers with names like Parnelli Jones, but there were also a few built for the streets.

Ford pays homage to the legend with the reintroduction of the 5.0-liter Mustang and the new generation 2012 Boss 302.? It?s powered by a 444-hp Hi-Pro 4V 302 Ti-VCT 5.0-liter V-8 and has all the components that can take it from a car that?s comfortable on the street to a racecar with a few minor adjustments to the shocks and the exhaust system.

Mustang Boss 302: is a 160-page hardback filled with 215 color and 51 black and white photos spanning the history of the Boss from the beginning, through the versions arriving a Ford dealers right now.

For an extra touch of history, the forward to the book was written by racing legend Parnelli Jones, who won the 1970 Trans-Am Championship in a Mustang Boss 302.
