Books: Muscle Cars

A ‘Must Have’ books for Muscle Car Lovers

It?s been 40 or 50 years since muscle cars were the king of the road.? The classic Hemi, GTO, Charger, Boss and dozens like them were a four-wheel rage, and still are still head-turners when one rumbles down the street. ??Author Mike Mueller has captured the essence of these V-8-powered hot rods from the 1960s to the present.

Each chapter in the 239-page paperback book is organized around a theme (milestones, factory racers, etc.), with each model getting a multi-page spread in full color.? All the featured cars are shown with the original price, engine and transmission details and performance numbers.? Mueller even includes the production runs of each of these beauties.

Worth the read alone are Mueller?s ?Did You Know? boxes that he includes with each car. ?These sidebars have fascinating new bits of information and background about each of the cars.

Muscle Cars includes 360 color photos of the cars each perfectly restored to their original glory.

Mueller has worked as a freelance automotive photojournalist since 1991 and has held staff positions at Automobile Quarterly, Corvette Fever, Muscle Car Review and Mustang Monthly. He has also written and contributed to more than 50 other automotive books and his interest and knowledge clearly shows in these pages.

Muscle Cars is part of the First Gear Series from Motorbooks, a division of Quayside Publishing Group.? For more information about the publisher, this book, or to order the book ($19.99), go to www.motorbooks.com.
