READY, SET, ADVENTURE. 2022 Subaru Forester Wilderness
My first question: Why is Subaru making the Wilderness addition vehicles? Well, it’s obvious really. Their customers are the adventure type. Go to any ski hill during the season, Mt Hood meadows near Portland Oregon for instance and you can play “Spot the vehicle which is not a Subaru”. Subaru’s seem to have become a necessary piece of outdoor equipment. With that logic in mind making a special more outdoor Wilderness vehicle makes complete sense.
Existing Subaru owners often upfit their vehicles to be more outdoorsy anyway so doing it at the factory and keeping it under warranty while updating it will appeal to the economically conscious Subaru fans.
The 2022 Subaru Forester Wilderness Offers something else too. It offers the brand a consumer Halo vehicle that they have never had.
You might be surprised to find out that the new Subaru Forester wilderness is not priced at the top of the range for the 2022 Subaru foresters but right in the middle. You can get into a Subaru Forester for a starting price of around $25,195 the new wilderness edition starts at $32,820. That price still gives you room to grow up into the limited model which has a starting price of $35,295. For a Halo car interesting Lee enough, it’s right in the middle of the pack.
WHY WILDERNESS?
If you step up to buy the Subaru Forester Wilderness you will get something designed to take medium off-road trails. A hardier suspension that includes longer coil springs different shock absorbers, that result in part, in a higher body that gives 9.2 inches of ground clearance up from the 8.7. All-terrain tires are included as well as a full-size spare and wheel just in case you managed to destroy a wheel while navigating the wilderness.
The exterior gets a new design with a new front slimmer LED headlights matte black reflection strip on the hood wilderness badging knew more aggressive clad bumper silver aluminum lower bumper with a rear skid plate underneath and then anodized copper accents throughout the exterior and interior of the vehicle. The roof rag will take up to 220 pounds while moving and 800 pounds while stationary. specially designed for a tent.
The inside is fresh and continues with design cues inside and outside the dash. The tailgate has an interior LED light so in the darkness you can illuminate a small work area. The rear seats do flip down automatically from a switch in the back which is incredibly useful when loading up the family from a beach trip while it’s dark.
