2021 Nissan Armada
Not only does Nissan update the stalwart, bold Armada with new front fenders, grille and front bumper for 2021, the flagship SUV also is the first vehicle to feature Nissan’s redesigned logo. Additionally, a new headlight design includes more than 50 LEDs in each headlight that create a new light pattern. At the rear, Armada receives a new bumper and the combination lights contain more than 70 LEDs. The 2021 Nissan Armada also features body-color overfenders, LED turn signals, painted roof rails and acoustic front windows and windshield.
Model Lineup
The 2021 Nissan Armada will be offered in SV, SL and Platinum trim levels — an Armada S will be added later. Armada SL features 20-inch wheels, leather-trimmed seats, leather door trim, LED fog lights, a moonroof, an intelligent around view monitor, remote engine start, a power liftgate, a 13-speaker Bose Audio system and trailer sway control.
Platinum Additions
Armada Platinum adds 22-inch aluminum alloy wheels, quilted leather-trimmed seats, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, front climate-controlled seats, heated rear seats, rain-sensing wipers, a rear step lamp, traffic-sign recognition, intelligent backup collision intervention, illuminated cupholders and third-row power recline and fold seats.
Interior Updates
Inside, the 2021 Nissan Armada features a redesigned center stack with a standard tablet-style 12.3-inch color display at the top. Technology includes standard Wi-Fi, wireless Apple CarPlay, wired Android Auto and available wireless smartphone charging. The new 7-inch Advanced Driver Assist display offers full color and higher resolution with access to multiple information screens via controls on the steering wheel.
Interior Comfort
The standard 8-occupant interior includes heated 10-way adjustable power front seats with a large center console, a fold-flat second-row 60/40 split bench seat and a third-row 60/40 split-folding bench seat. Armada SL and Platinum trims have optional second-row captain’s chairs and a removeable second-row console. Power-folding third-row seats are standard on Platinum. The Armada SV features Prima-Tex seating, the SL gets leather-appointed seats and the Platinum has quilted leather seats. Dual-zone automatic temperature control is standard. Armada Platinum adds heated second-row seats, heated / cooled front seats and heated steering wheel.
Safety Technology
Standard safety technology for the 2021 Nissan Armada includes Nissan Safety Shield 360, intelligent lane intervention, intelligent forward collision warning and blind-spot intervention. Armada Platinum includes an intelligent rearview mirror with a higher resolution, frameless design and a 50 percent larger screen. Armada Platinum also includes a standard family entertainment system with simplified menus, revised dual 8-inch head restraint monitors, a new HDMI input and two pairs of wireless headphones.
Midnight Edition Package
A new Midnight Edition Package offered on the 2021 Nissan Armada SL includes 20-inch aluminum alloy wheels, 275/60R20 all-season tires, black painted heated mirrors with puddle lights, LED turn signals, black roof rails, rear LED lights with black exterior trim, and black front and rear skidplates. Inside, the Midnight Edition adds black leather seats, a black headliner, black interior trim, a black cargo mat and Midnight Edition floor mats.
Under the Hood
The 2021 Nissan Armada is powered by a 5.6-liter Endurance V8 engine producing 400 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque, combined with an advanced 7-speed automatic transmission with adaptive shift control and downshift rev matching. Armada is offered with rear-wheel drive or Nissan’s Auto 4WD system. Standard maximum towing capacity is 8,500 pounds when properly equipped.
Trailer Towing
An integrated trailer brake controller and tow hitch receiver are standard on Armada SV, SL and Platinum trims. Armada SL and Platinum also include standard trailer sway control. When the system senses trailer sway, it automatically applies the brakes to slow the vehicle and eliminate sway.
