2022 Lexus UX 250h Luxury
“A Premium Compact Luxury SUV at an Affordable Price”
Lexus serves up a substantial menu of its UX model lineup with various powertrains and trim choices. Essentially, the Lexus UX lineup is a compact 5 passenger SUV or crossover if you prefer, in either gas or hybrid power form that’s available in either FWD or AWD. Reviewed here is the Hybrid version in Luxury trim, which is the smallest and most affordable Lexus hybrid model.
The 2022 Lexus UX 250h is sold in three levels of trim: base, F-Sport and Luxury. All are powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine paired to a hybrid system that provides a total of 181 horsepower. All-wheel drive is standard, along with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT)
My test 2022 Lexus UX Luxury hybrid started at $40,240 which rose to $44,115 After factoring in a wireless charger, Head Up Display, Triple beam LED headlights with Auto-Leveling, washers, LED fog and cornering lamps, Intuitive Parking Assist and Delivery, Processing and Handling Fees. The exterior color was Grecian Water Blue while the interior was done in Gray and Charcoal.
The UX 250h is loaded with a host of features that provide both passenger and vehicle safety. Included are 10 airbags, ABS with electronic Brake Force Distribution and Brake Assist, location specific Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Lexus Safety System 2.0 Pre-Collison System with Pedestrian Detection, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracking Assist, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Intelligent High Beam Headlamps and Road Sign Assist, Electronic Parking Brake with Backup Camera and Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
Audiophiles will appreciate the Lexus Multimedia System with the 10.3 inch color display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Compatability, 8-speaker Lexus Premium Sound System, Voice Command, Siri Eyes Free, Google Assistant, Lexus Enform Safety Connect, Service Connect, Remote, Wi-Fi Trials, 4G network dependency, Amazon Alexa Compatability, Sirius XM 3-month Premium Trial, Remote Tech Interface and 4 USB ports.
LUXURIOUSNESS INSIDE AND OUT
The Lexus UX 250h sports a dynamic design form featuring smooth, swooping curves and character lines along with an overall futuristic ground hugging stance
The interior of the UX 250h is extremely inviting and comfortable with a host of features that add to one’s driving pleasure. The only drawback is limited rear seat room with tall front seat occupants. Oh, and the entertainment system could benefit from being more intuitive and user friendly.
The 2022 Lexus UX 250h is not a rocketship, but acceleration is certainly more than adequate, and is actually quite satisfying. The CVT gear changes perceptible but smooth and the handling characteristics lean to the sporty side of the equation.
THE FINAL ANALYSIS
