The sporty 2021 Corolla Hatchback Special Edition features a 2.0-liter Dynamic Force engine producing 168 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque, combined with a Dynamic Shift CVT that offers simulated 10-speed Sequential Shiftmatic steps, a Sport mode and paddle shifters. In addition, the Dynamic Shift CVT has a distinctive feel compared to other CVTs; it employs a gearset at launch for initial acceleration before transitioning to the CVT’s pulley system.
