The flagship SUV of the BMW lineup, the X7 offers bold styling and luxurious surroundings for up to seven occupants. And for those stealthy customers who wish to experience the X7 yet keep on the down low, BMW designers have created the 2021 BMW X7 Dark Shadow Edition. Based on the powerful X7 M50i, this special limited-production model comes well equipped for night cruising.

The 2021 BMW X7 Dark Shadow Edition stands out (or stays hidden) with a BMW Individual Frozen Arctic Grey metallic matte finish — the first time the company uses this special paint on one of its SUVs. Designers also complemented the unique body color with extended Shadowline high-gloss black trim on B- and C-pillars, side mirrors, window trim, roof rails and the very large kidney grille. The black chrome exhaust outlets of the M Sport exhaust system complete the dark look down to the very tip of the vehicle.

Rounding out the dark look are 22-inch M V-spoke bicolor matte Jet Black light alloy wheels.

The interior of the 2021 BMW X7 Dark Shadow Edition conveys an air of exclusivity via Night Blue/Black full Merino leather seats with contrasting stitching, as well as a headliner trimmed in Night Blue Alcantara.

Leather and Wood
Night Blue Nappa leather trim accents the upper dashboard, doors and armrests, while the lower dash and front seatbacks get Black Merino leather trim. Fineline wood trim with aluminum inserts adds an earthy touch to the upper console area. The lower center console features Piano Black trim with a limited-edition badge.

The 2020 BMW X7 Dark Shadow Edition possesses an extensive list of standard equipment. The only choice a buyer would need to make when ordering is swapping to second-row captain’s chairs in place of the standard second-row bench seat, which changes maximum seating to six.

Standout features on the 2021 BMW X7 Dark Shadow Edition that owners will definitely appreciate include heated, ventilated and massaging front seats, a Panoramic Sky Lounge LED roof, heated and cooled cupholders, 5-zone climate control and a Bowers and Wilkins Diamond Surround audio system.

Powering this X7 is a 4.4-liter TwinPower Turbo V8 engine producing 523 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque, teamed with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Power gets sent to the road via BMW’s rear-biased xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system. Acceleration is impressive for a vehicle this size — a sprint to 60 mph takes a mere 4.5 seconds.

BMW has also equipped the Dark Shadow edition with M Sport Brakes, an M Sport Differential, M Sport Exhaust, Adaptive M Suspension and two-axle air suspension.
